About Me

Hello!
I’m Daiane Fernandes, and I’m excited to share my passion for early childhood education with you. With a Master of Education in Special Education from George Mason University and over 20 years of diverse experience, I’ve had the honor of working in various educational settings. From my role as Lead Teacher at Bright Horizons to owning a Family Child Care in Ashburn, Virginia, and teaching Special Education in Loudoun County Public Schools, each experience has enriched my understanding of children's unique needs.
In recognition of my commitment to inclusive education, I received the SEAC Award of Recognition for Excellence in Supporting Special Education in 2020. Most recently, in 2023, I was proud to be awarded the Montgomery County Early Care and Education Excellence Award, highlighting my dedication to supporting children and families in my community.
Beyond my teaching credentials, I’m also a certified yoga teacher. I integrate yoga, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises into my students’ routines, helping them enhance focus and build positive relationships with their peers.
Through this blog, I aim to share my enthusiasm for Waldorf education and holistic teaching practices, providing insights and practical advice for both parents and educators. Thank you for joining me on this wonderful journey!
